Your child will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). During their time at Morris Minors, your child will participate in a variety of activities — with adult support, independently, or fully directed by adults. The EYFS is grouped into four themes, and encompasses three prime areas and four specific areas of learning.
The Four Themes
A Unique Child
Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Positive Relationships
Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or key persons.
Enabling Environments
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
Learning & Development
Children learn and develop in different ways and at different paces. All areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
Areas of Learning
The Three Prime Areas
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
The Four Specific Areas
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
All of these are essential skills and knowledge for children to participate successfully in society. We ensure every child's individual progress is tracked and celebrated throughout their time with us.
